Prepare for Jet Lag
If your travel involves a long flight and changing continents, you should be prepared for jet lag. This happens due to the disruption in our body’s circadian rhythms. Jet lag could have effects like a weaker performing immune system, fatigue or sometimes, mild depression.
Generally, our bodies are not designed to cope with the speed of modern flights. Therefore, sleeping on time, eating or continuing other regular tasks might seem challenging during the first few days of your travel.
In order to avoid the jet lag issue, you have to apply some force on your body. Don’t give in to the urge to eat during your old times. Rather, eat according to the timing of your new place. Sleep and wake up in accordance with the local time. Also try to avoid sleeping during the day and get enough sunshine for your body.

Contrary to popular belief, bad stomach doesn’t only originate from local foods or street-side places. When you first arrive in a new destination, even the healthiest local foods could lead to a malfunction of your stomach. This symptom is common among more than half of global travelers. The most effective way to address this problem is to eat lots of fluids, including water and juice. Some people also suggest taking probiotic foods like yogurt. During your first few days, you should try eating simple foods like bread, rice, banana etc. It is safe to avoid spicy foods too.
Unless the situation is really serious, you should avoid using medication. While these medications might provide temporary solution, they could potentially increase your recover time as well.

When going to an adventure tour, you should be specifically careful about the insects and other pests. Some travel destinations in Asia and Africa are particularly known for various types of insects. Though most of them are not that dangerous, you should be especially careful about mosquitoes. And over-stretching any insect bite might lead to infected sores lasting for a long time.
To avoid insect bites, never bring any snacks or food items into your hotel room. These things will attract a lot of insects and flies. Whenever possible, turn off the lights as they tend to attract the insects. Depending on the situation, you could also use mosquito nets, repellants or other methods.
